OK, what is going on? The Baltimore Metro area just experienced a 5.8 earthquake as news sources are reporting. Just returned in from outside where the resident of our offices have taken to the streets with hysteria and confusion of what just happened. Some are complaining of having slight headaches including our chief editor. The blogs and social media outlets are being flooded with breaking news updates every minute about this mysterious earthquake that has hit up the east coast and shook every computer and piece of furniture in our offices.
Baltimore Police are reporting that are not experiencing any disruption in services so if you need them for an emergency call them.
UPDATE: 08/23/2011 2:22PM - Apparently AT&T can't withstand the effects of a Earthquake cause we are hearing numerous reports that phone service is not operational but there service is still operating on text though cause they are still coming in...
UPDATE: 08/23/2011 2:30PM - Office of the Governor Martin O'Malley says that the Emergency Department has no report of any major damage but will continue to check.
The earthquake has been revised to a 5.9 in magnitude from 5.8.
Baltimore Police are issuing warning that smaller aftershocks are possible so beware.
UPDATE: 08/23/2011 2:52PM - Maryland Department of Transportation says the Light rail and Subway have been suspended until further notice per Baltimore Sun.

UPDATE: 08/23/2011 3:25PM - The FAA has grounded flights across the region.
UPDATE: 08/23/2011 3:34PM - The White House and surrounding building have been given the all clear after this afternoons earthquake the Secret Service says.
There was a 2.8 magnitude aftershock being reporting in VA.

UPDATE: 08/23/2011 4:43PM - St. Patrick Church closed indefinitely due to damage from earthquake, Baltimore Sun reports.
UPDATE: 08/24/2011 3:35AM - Amtrak is back on schedule after the earthquake disrupted service.
