Baltimore Fashion Week Launch Party Recap (07/19/2012)

Guest arriving
I started to write this while I am still at the party because I thought I should share what I've seen tonight before I forget everything in the morning. The rain was trying to ruin this event but failed to curve the intention of enjoyment of the evening.  The excitement and enthusiasm exuded through the entire event. Sharan Nixon CEO of Baltimore Fashion Week has done it again, so if you missed it you won't know what to expect from Fashion Week this year. Can any event be more fluid than when you're at the aquarium?  I think not.  I was very happy to see what the National Aquarium in Baltimore had to offer as far as events go, this was my first at the location, in fact I don't think I have been to this aquarium since I was in grade school and that was years ago - mind your business you don't need to know how many.

Dance Floor
The BFW staff held down the dance and just about forced everyone to dance (Thanks Antoine) but that wasn't needed 'cause DJ Big Dave held it down on the music as usual and Miss Mama controlled the room on the mic. You could tell cause when you heard your favorite song the crowd would erupt and head to the dance floor.

I was so mad to hear that I missed one of the most proud moments of the night and that was the recognition by the City of Baltimore to Baltimore Fashion Week for 5 years of successful production.  Sharan that's what hard work and determination will get you every time.  That goes to show they see you!  Congratulations.
Door prizes

I missed several things, darn you rain.  They gave away the door prizes before I arrived too.  Next time I will plan better, check the weather and add second outfit to the car - just in case.  Needless to say that there was torrential down pour this night that ruined plans and attendee outfits.  I had to return home and change clothing and then make my way back to the event. OK moving on...

OK let me get this over with, I need to add something that I have seen happening at a few events this year and in the past,   as the lace-front gets more and more popularity people continue to apply the direction for application incorrectly. I am not calling any names but you know who you are and I only report what I see and I am not a phony person so I have to call it like I see it. When you know you maybe attending a high energy event,  maybe you should take a second to re-think your choice of hair do.   I mean, just the simple fact that maybe taping your wig to your face may not be the right look after all. Get it, adhesive doesn't stick when wet, maybe you need a different application method. 'Cause once that tape lifts and it looks like your doing a commercial for Scotch tape then your night should be over, no more partying.

That's was just my commentary, please don't allow me to dismay you from being you.  Put your best foot or adhesive forward.

All in all, I enjoyed myself and everyone else seem to likewise.  So I am prepared for the next shindig.

The next event starts August 17th at the Pikesville Hilton for Baltimore Fashion Week. I am so ready for this...  Do you have your tickets yet?  Get your tickets at http://www.baltimore-fashionweek.com
